We loved the peaceful nature of the property, with the comforts of modern accommodation. It's located right next to the Addo National Park entrance, which is convenient to access each day but you still have the flexibility to access the shops nearby. The team on-site helped us book a tour last minute which was great. Breakfast is generous and tasted great. No downsides - would easily go back!

The location of the property was perfect! We were going to the Addo Elephant Reserve and the property is a 5-minute drive from the south gate. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our host, Leanne. She was incredibly informative about the park and the local area. She recommended a local restaurant that served delicious food and gave us information about local facilities. She gave us a tour around the property to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. The property was incredibly clean and well-presented throughout. It is light (large windows) and airy. The veranda overlooking the river was one of our favourite places to sit. We watched the sun rise and set over the Addo River and we watched a pair of Mongoose playing in the field behind the house. We took a stroll down to the river and watched life go by from the pier. The bedding/towels/soft furnishing etc. was immaculate and the beds were sensationally comfortable. The bathroom facilities were top-notch (hot water & good water pressure). We also appreciated the fact that the car parking was undercover, so our vehicle was constantly in the shade. A cool car in November in South Africa is a definite blessing. We did not use the pool, but it was lovely, clean and private. We loved our stay and would recommend this excellent property very highly. Thanks, Leanne for making our stay as perfect as it was.

We had a fantastic stay! Dungbettle Lodge went above and beyond to make our trip so memorable and exciting! We used kayaks to go across the river to the sand dunes, we were advised on a safari trip to take, and enjoyed a cooked breakfast every morning. The hosts went above and beyond to make our trip easy, fun, and comfortable. The owners and staff are absolutely outstanding hosts and can not recommend this accommodation enough. Thank you so much!

Great location. Beautiful well tended buildings with character. Lovely gardens. Excellent restaurant with buffet style meals cooked on site. Local cuisine.

Our family had the most pleasant stay! James & Bela are great hosts and were super accommodating and helpful. The two rooms are set up for everything you might need to make your stay comfortable and able to 100% self cater. It is also exceptionally clean and the beds super comfy. We will definitely be back again!
