It's a perfect choice of a budget hotel for those active tourists who stay in the room to sleep, change and off to explore the city.
Thr room is spacious, together with bathroom, there's a nice balcony, the view is just toward the opposite building, but you can get a fresh air and an idea about the weather outside. Everything was clean: the room, bathroom, halls, elevators, reception. Towels were changed daily (btw, towels were super white, nice and puffy). A/c, TV, hair dryer, sockets next to beds. In a word - it's a great stay with all expected facilities.
Location is also convenient in terms of proximity to metro (2 min walk), train station (10 min walk - if you decide to take a train to other towns), small groceries, decent cafes for morning coffee.
Arethusa Hotel is centrally located next to Plaka, the scenic Old Town of Athens and stands within 50 metres from the Syntagma Metro Station.

Everything is walkable around the Acropolis area… you will see the reality of old history mixed in with new gentrification in progress and living with Athenians… depending on where you choose to stay.
Bathrooms could be improved, especially shower sizes in some re-modelled units.
Regulation of taxi fares should be more strictly enforced, even Ubers are too flexible and end up with high end prices.
Public transportation ticket buying and usage should be simpler and improved (or maybe publicised more, clarified on public boards at airport in multiple languages or e.g. using QR codes ) - perhaps one choice of ticket workable across multiple government(if any) & private providers.
Non-Greek visitors need to recognise Greek signage, if unfamiliar with non-Latin characters - eg. When driving, train stations etc

Athens Odyssey: A Fascinating Journey Through Ancient...
Athens Odyssey: A Fascinating Journey Through Ancient Wonders:-)
Our 9-day adventure in Athens was nothing short of extraordinary. This ancient city captivated us with its rich history, stunning architecture, and vibrant culture and food experiences. From the moment we stepped onto the cobblestone streets, we were transported back in time, surrounded by remnants of a civilization that shaped the modern world.
The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly the Acropolis of Athens. Ascending the sacred rock, we were awestruck by the magnificent Parthenon, a true masterpiece of classical Greek architecture. The breathtaking views of the city below and the intricate details of the temple left us in awe, reminding us of the incredible skill and artistry of the ancient Greeks.
Our exploration didn't stop there. We wandered through the ancient Agora, where philosophers once debated and merchants traded goods. The Acropolis Museum was another highlight, housing an impressive collection of artifacts and providing a deeper understanding of the Acropolis' history.
Beyond the ancient wonders, we immersed ourselves in the lively atmosphere of modern Athens. We strolled through the charming Plaka, Psiri and Monastiraki neighborhood, indulging in delectable Greek cuisine and sipping ouzo at traditional tavernas. The lively nightlife of the city added a vibrant contrast to the ancient ruins, creating a unique blend of old and new.
Overall, our 9-day journey in Athens was a truly unforgettable experience. We departed with a profound appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of this city and a desire to return and uncover more of its hidden gems.

Athens is a gorgeous mix of culture, history and modern.
Athens is a gorgeous mix of culture, history and modern. The city is very walkable so comfortable footwear is essential. The main sights are not overly expensive and very accessible. Uber and wolt for cabs and food delivery they both work well. There are lots of options for foodies, historians and Instagrammers.
acropolis wasn’t as much of I climb as I thought it was fairly easy! streets all over Athens have a lot of slippery marble so trainers/rubber soles are essential.

Travelling with children- A great city for a short trip- we had 1/12 days to explore which was more than enough and was safe with a young child, my child learnt so much and all locals were very welcoming and helpful. It gets hot in the city so May is the perfect time and would recommend booking the Acropolis for 8am when it opens as you can beat queue , the crowds and the heat and then follow on to do the museum as everything will make much more sense. If travelling with young children, (under 8 ) do not do the audio tours or guide as they looked very long and children will be bored. We did not- we made our own way around with a childrens guide book and took pictures of any text in museum so we we reflect afterwards as it kept my daughter much more interested. If with children use the hop on hop off bus as best way for them to see sights and not too much walking. Piraus was good on bus if you want a rest and a ride. not much else to go and look at other than cruise ships.
very easy to get around Athens on metro but thought hop on hop off bus allowed you to get bearings and see much much more, the ancient Olympic stadium is great to look around too.
to eat and drink was not expensive when on foot, best pastry and cake shop where you can buy a lunch is bread factory ( off of Metaxourghio tube/hope off bus stop A13 blue bus) good choice for Children and also PS restaurant for dinner.
Great trip!

This was my second time in Athens, and I was pleasantly surprised. The city was very clean, there was no stray dogs, people vere very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent! Also, the beach, see and all main attraction in Athens. It was not very crowded. We did not purchase ticket on-line, but we also didn’t wait a lot to buy them at the counter – maybe 5 minutes. But of course, this could only be luck or just that time of the year. I was also surprised how big Athens are. They are very beautiful and I’m coming back.

We did a tour after departing a cruise ship….we saw the Acropolis(a must see), the Agora and several other points of interest….Athens is a busy, bustling metropolis and quite interesting….the negatives-traffic is brutal, beautiful buildings throughout the city have been defaced by graffiti
Good side view of the Acropolis from our balcony, but the best view is from the roof terrace open all day and night - also where you go for breakfast which is very nice. The staff are really helpful and the hotel is in a brilliant location for the main archaeological sites and the acropolis museum. We would definitely stay here again - it was the most expensive of all the hotels we stayed in during our trip around Greece but the we'd expect to pay more in the city centre and so close to the Parthenon.
The decor of the room was très chic and it was ultra clean. Had all the modern amenities, the towel hanger even had a heater! We stayed at the Patroclus suite which was the most wheelchair friendly accommodation we encountered during our 10 day trip to Turkey and Greece. The location is within easy walking distance to the main sites of Athens and restaurants abound! I highly, highly recommend this place!!!! Communication with property staff was excellent, we didn’t have a problem checking in.
The room was really great with enough space for whole family. The bed was really similar to what we have in our flat, because we slept well. The furniture was older, but still ok for us. I think this is usual standard in Greece as we were in many Greece's hotels. The location is great, only 5 minutes from Metro station, there are really great restaurant next to hotel in the square opposite to hotel. We had better food in those restaurants like we had in Plaka near Acropolis.
All good things to say about Demetrios as a host and the location at Samou 10. We enjoyed a good breakfast every morning thanks to ample supplies in the fridge. He brought some spaghetti and sauce for our first night because our international flight arrived late. The last day he held our baggage for a few hours while we explored Athens. Great air conditioning units in the rooms and a nice balcony for breakfast. Overall, we loved our stay and felt very welcome in Greece.
The location is very nice in the city center and close to all the attractions. I could do everything on foot and the metro to the airport is also close to the hotel.
The room is very clean and nice, they offer a robe and slippers. There was a coffee maker in the room, kettle and tea available.
The staff is very nice and friendly, they gave me great advice and we talked a lot about the city and Greece.
Breakfast is also great, many options and very tasty.
This hotel is perfectly placed if you want to be close to Syntagma Square, Plaka and the National Gardens. It is a 3 minute walk from the X95 bus stop (the Athens Airport bus - cost 5 euros and 50 cents).
We had a lovely big room that overlooked the road and church at the front of the building.
The breakfast was top class with plenty of choice and all high quality.
A very positive experience.
Omiros Hotel in center of Plaka, near all the attraction you need to visit. This hotel you can reach either by taxi or walking distance from syntagma if you decide to have the shuttle from the airport. Clean Room nice people and the value for money is perfect. The breakfast has no big choice but decent specially you are in Athens and you can enjoy the food all day while walking.
This hotel is incredible. The reception is super competent and extra friendly. They have the best breakfast I ever encountered in the whole of my trip through 4 islands + Athens, in Greece. The view from their rooftop at night is insane. In the same street, you find the most magical pastry shop ever full of Alice in Wonderland themed deco. Just book it!
The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful.
The location is perfect to get to all sites in Athens. Syntagma Square is the best central location. It is clean but busy and has links everywhere. Ideal location with the City Sighseeing Bus around the corner, metro link at the top of the road and walking distance to Plaka.
Hotel is modern.
Nice lighting.
We had to stay one night while our trip through Greece...
Yet, on the floor above us there was a couple.
They had sex 4 times, each time 15-20 minutes, with a pause of 15 minutes between...
I was very ashame and embarrassed while my wife was extremely curious who was the guy...
A warm and friendly, English speaking staff, clean, quiet hotel…excellent location (for going into Athens or traveling on to central & northern Greece.) Walking distance to a nice supermarket, 15 min walk to many restaurants. Very nice patio/porch seating for coffee or cocktails, in a garden space.
Very close to the Acropolis and to other sites in central Athens. The staff was very helpful during our stay. We could leave our luggage in the hotel after check-out for several hours - it helped us a lot. It was a wonderful ending to our archaeological and romantic visit in Greece!
Very surprised positively by this hotel. One of the best ones we stayed in while traveling in Greece. Comfortable room. Amazing breakfast with a great variety. Centre of Athens. Metro and bus stations are a 5 minute walk.
Highly recommend staying here.
Best location great staff when you come to Greece this hotel is a little peace of home , no language barrier right by the mediterranean with all the modern conveniences, that you were expecting a hotel in the United States
The airport was very conveniently located near the airport making our departure from Greece go smoothly. It worked well as a stepping stone between traveling to Athens from the islands and returning home to the United States.
Titania Hotel was perfect the location the breakfast was really delicious the staff was really friendly and easy to approach and they give you exact details 🙂 highly recommended this hotel...love to stay in Athens Greece
This was the best hotel of our trip to Greece. Really comfortable boutique hotel owned by two lovely sisters who really made our stay special. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. Really fantastic hotel.
Very well located, rooms are clean and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The owner was a delight, he took his time to sit with us and tell us all about Greece and Athens. We will definitely return.
