it is very close to the centre. we used train 19 (GVB) almost everyday to get there and it took 10 min maximum. also you can easily reach the otel via almost every kind of transportation NS, GVB, RNET etc. no smoking allowed but you can smoke in the park which is in front of the hotel. rooms were fine and clean. kitchen is excellent choice if you want to cook your own meal instead of eat outside everyday.
