Our house is located on the water and is therefore less suitable for small children and is only accessible via the walking cycle path (4 min), so the location is also not suitable for disabled people. Giethoorn is located in the extensive National Park de Wieden and it is a fantastic walking and cycling area. But of course you should also explore the area with a whisper boat. Giethoorn is also a good base for, for example, a day trip to Amsterdam (approximately 1.5 hours by car or train), Meppel or Zwolle approximately 30 minutes by car or train.
