You never know when you book someone's backyard guest house, but the engineering and design of this property was superb. Down a slope from the main house, which is not visible at all from the accommodation, with a huge wall of windows facing the river and the Wharfedale, looking across to Grassington. View off the porch when we arrived is included here. Location was great - easy walk to Grassington and easy access to plenty of public footpaths in the Dales. Hosts were friendly and gave us all the space we wanted. Good recommendations for food and activities and walks. Do yourself a favor and read the Grassington book when you first arrive. We walked the village and later wished I had looked at the book before striking out.

The hosts seemed to have thought of everything we may need and were extremely friendly and accommodating. We wished we could have stayed longer than 2 night. The hot tub was a real bonus and the perfect place to relax after a day of walking.

Everything was perfect, the location, the lodge were great. Rachael the owner went above and beyond for our visit. It was such a lovely quiet location. The lodges have absolutely everything one could need and are fitted to a high standard.

The Shepherd's Hut está en Sheriff Hutton, a 18 km de Estación de tren de York, a 30 km de Parque temático Flamingo Land y a 36 km de Bosque de Dalby. The Shepherds hut is situated in a beautiful village, but having it within castle ruins just makes any stay there magical. We found ourselves having a cuppa at any time of day just so we can sit and admire the castle grounds. Tasha, Pat and Oscar (their pooch) are wonderful hosts and are very welcoming, most notably Tasha makes an amazing lemon cake which we thought was a fantastic personal touch. Pat gave us a lovely tour around the grounds and allowed us to visit the sound room, which again was beautiful. We cannot express how amazing the location is, beautiful, magical, full of history and character and the sunshine is the icing on the cake. Thank you for a lovely time! Jonny and Fran
